@glamourmag: What does it take to win Best in Show? Susan Korn and Rachel Antonoff agree—it’s all about moxie. “We’re about dressing up for yourself. It’s waking up and choosing the joy,” Korn, founder of Susan Alexandra, says of the brands’ collaborative #NYFW show, where the traditional runway was replaced with a red-carpeted dog show arena. A star-studded cast including #DylanMulvaney, #MaitreyiRamakrishnan, and #BluDeTiger modeled alongside a few furry friends who are almost all up for adoption—like Minnow, Sweet Frank, and Moogli. Pooches and people alike were decked out in Korn’s signature beaded accessories and Antonoff’s playful patterns, which both designers say are inspired by “ungapatchka,” the Yiddish word used to describe the kitschy and ornate. We spotted human models in decked-out Crocs, pink wigs, and pasta-print puffers; the canines wore tiny cowboy hats, beaded collars, and leashes covered in charms. Elmer, a bulldog mix, was ultimately crowned the winner—but at least all the front-row attendees, including #EllaEmhoff, #JackAntonoff, and #HayleyWilliams, went home with “honorable mention” prize ribbons.
