My great aunts would hold up the party line phone talking shit in german about everyone in the neighborhood (who could listen to the call at any time bc party lines)

My grandma speaks in French when it’s a private matter 🤣 My dad has forgotten most of the language & I only know certain words 😭 it’ll be gone with my grandma 🥺

My grandpa never taught my mom Spanish bc my grandma didn’t know it either since she grew up in foster care w/ a yt lady. And it let him do his cheating and gambling under the radar 😅
