It’s the fact that residency is your “reward” for graduating medical school. Like 8 years of work to get to that spot and they immediately start giving you the “privledge” of working you into dust

Also 70-80 hour work weeks exclude a lot of people from medicine - such as lots of folks with chronic illnesses, who may be incredible providers but can’t push their bodies through that
