MINCE PIE ROLLS 🥧🥃 I made double this recipe but it made far too many rolls 240g plain flour 1tsp salt 50g butter 5tbsp white sugar 3tsp active yeast 240ml warm water (for yeast) 500ml warm water 120 - 300g additional flour Tbsp butter melted 1 jar mincemeat - Add the yeast to the 240ml water, whisk to combine. - In a separate bowl add the flour, salt and butter, rub this together in your fingers until the butter is well incorporated and a little sandy. Then make a well in the centre and add the sugar. - Pour in the yeast mixture and stir to combine then add the additional water. Start with half the water and combine well before slowly adding in the rest, until you have a more liquidy jiggly mixture. You may not need all the water for this - Cover and let rise for around 1.5 hrs until doubled in size. - Pour 120g of flour onto a surface and pour the yeast mixture on top. Knead until the flour is incorporated and the dough is firmer and less sticky/liquid- use more flour if necessary. This should take around 5 minutes. Place back in the bowl and leave to rise again for around an hour. - Knead the dough with a little more flour just to remove more stickiness, then roll into a large rectangle (think cinnamon buns) - Spread butter over the dough then top with the mincemeat, I used the entire jar for this. - Roll the dough from the long end into a sausage shape and slice into around 12 pieces, place into a well oiled baking dish. - Preheat oven to 200°, let the rolls continue to rise while the oven preheats. - Cook for around 30 - 40 minutes until a nice golden brown, i then spread a little melted butter on top, but this is optional. - - If you want to ice the buns - I just mixed icing sugar with a little heavy cream. No measurements for this, just use two big scoops of sugar and add the cream a splash at a time until you reach the desired consistence, add a little vanilla extract and pour over the rolls! #baking #christmasbaking #christmasrecipe
