Every time I need to buy large items that I have saved for, I grab an interest free credit card. I have my new windows spread over 2 interest free cards at the moment total £8500, but I pay the minimum payment! I have the £8500 in a high interest account (Tandem) and it will stay there earning me £35 per month for the next 19 months (interest free term) Then I will clear it in full, that gives me about £650 free cash (hopefully interest rates stay up) I do this Quite often.

Been doing this for a few years now. I have tens of thousands of Amex points and paid £0.00 in total to Amex for it.

I used to put all my business spending on Amex until they changed the t’s & c’s to ban this practice. Flew business class to Argentina and Japan. Cost us about the same as economy.

Never pay on your debit card as no protection. Only ever pay on credit card but always pay balance off in full unless you can get interest free.
