@dr_followup_pcp: Replying to @shalexxo Great question and I’m happy to see you tracking your symptoms. That’s a great way to manage a chronic condition. #tiktokpcp #followuppcp #LearnOnTikTok #doctorsoftiktok #tiktokdocs #medtok #patientadvocacy #primarycare #renaltubularacidosis #bartterssyndrome #gitelmansyndrome #primaryhyperaldosteronism #connssyndrome #cushings #hypokalemiaperiodicparalysis #insulin #glycemicindex #albuterol #potassium #physiology
Great info. Also catalase activity can affect insulin sensitivity and mineralcorticoid receptor response to renal oxidative stress/aldosterone levels. You might find CAT genetic variants interesting!

I’ve got a problem with potassium and my kidneys. The dr that found it when I was 19, currently 41, told me my kidneys wasn’t filtering it and it’s flushing out when I pee. I was told to stay away from anything that has caffeine in it due to it lowering my potassium levels. Also told not to be out getting to hot due losing potassium when I sweat.. I’ve lived over half my life with this and it is starting to get worse. What do I need to do about this? You’re the only one I’ve heard talk about this subject

Outside of medications and lifestyle, with pts like this…do you ever suggest electrolyte supplementation like biolyte or liquid IV?
