You dont need to throw all food away. You can just ask your relatives or neighbour if you can use their fridge

unless the food in the freezer was raw/uncooked you could have cooked it to extend its shelf life, once you have a fridge again you can refreeze.

it can stay good for at least a day without power if you do not open it constantly. gone 3 days without power and didn't lose much food.

Fridges generally have hardware to swap the door to open from one side or the other. Just change the hardware at the top
