@grahamdavid: What is a fair amount to pay for local council service? And what are the new changes being considered by the socialists going to do to affect us all? And how will old folk handle this? #grahamdavid #keirfuture #keirfuture
Nothing about council tax is fair.. I pay 1.5 - 2k more than my neighbour for the same services because my house is bigger.

Anyone who owns a second home should pay double the council tax. Tenants should be exempt.

Why cant all adults pay the same as we all use and have access to same services in some way or another. Take the budget and divide by number of adults in area and thats the tax.

You seem to have neglected the fact the Tory government over 14 years have reduced the amount of money local councils get so forcing them to increase tax and saving money on services

I haven’t got a problem with the 0.5% charge, that does seem fair. However the devil is in the details, is that from when you purchase the house or is that updated each year? 1/2

Also worth remembering that when we paid the old rates system it also included our water. This was then split out.

The house my mum lives in cost my grandad £800, he died and handed it to my mum who has to spend 200k in tax on it. When she dies I won't be able to afford the tax so it'll be sold.
