@tomdraperacting: Rehearse to Let Go: The Paradox of Acting One of the most important lessons in acting is that preparation is key, but so is the ability to let go. It may seem contradictory, but the more you rehearse, the more freedom you’ll have in the audition room or on set. Rehearsing over and over allows you to internalize your lines and actions to the point where you no longer have to think about them. Some may say over-preparing is a thing, but in reality, there’s no such thing. The more you go over your material, the more it becomes second nature, allowing you to stay open, listen, and react to your scene partner in the moment. Acting is all about balancing preparation and spontaneity. You know what you’re going to say, but it’s about letting that knowledge live in the background while you focus on being present. By preparing thoroughly, you give yourself the ability to let go and be fully in the moment. That’s where the magic happens—when preparation meets freedom. So, rehearse, rehearse, rehearse, and then be ready to let it all go.#acting #actingskills #actingcoach #actingclass #audition #actingtips
