The Easiest Waterfall Hike in the Bay (with a secret 🤫) 👇 Welcome back to my Top 10 Bay Area Waterfalls series! Today, I’m covering number 9—a ridiculously short, family-friendly hike that leads to a stunning waterfall. But there’s also a hidden trail with a surprise waiting at the end… 💡 Love discovering hidden waterfalls? Don’t miss my free Top 10 Bay Area Waterfalls Guide (with maps included)— sign up in my bio for my newsletter. This is the first of two “Cascade Falls” that are just to the north of San Francisco. It’s short, it’s got a great waterfall layout, there’s areas to explore, and a hidden trail for extra fun. Cascade Falls Scorecard ⭐ Overall Score: 75 * Accessibility: 20 * Scenic Beauty: 15 * Uniqueness: 10 * Size/Height: 10 * Trail Quality: 20 Your Waterfall Trail Guide 🥾 Trail: Cascade Falls Trail, Mill Valley, CA 🅿️ Parking Nightmare? Here’s the Hack: Spots are extremely limited on Cascade Dr. and Lovell Ave. Your best bet? Arrive early or midweek. And please, respect the locals—these windy roads are not for speed demons! 📅 Best times to visit: Now! Simply incredible directly after a rain; try going early or mid-week for the best chance to find parking. Given the short trail distance, there’s a quick turnover of the parking lot if it’s full. 📏 Difficulty: Easy. The trail is only about 0.5 miles out and back to the main falls. Add another ~0.5 miles by going on the trail across the street 🏔️ Elevation: About 100 ft if you go up past the main fall. 👧 👦 ♿️ friendly: Super kid friendly. Not ADA accessible Facilities 🚽: None 🦮 Friendly: Dogs on leash 🎒 Gear: Minimal to no cell phone coverage. You’ll need all your water gear - towel, extra pair of shoes, etc. Bring a container for muddy shoes 🕶️ Shade: Fully shaded 🛂 Tips: First see the main fall by crossing the bridge on your right. Then go back and above the falls. There’s nothing much beyond it. Head back to your car then cross the street. Take the trail to your left and go less than 0.25 miles to find another waterfall and a rope swing over the creek which is in unknown condition. 🗑️: always remember to leave no trace and respect nature. #millvalley #northbay #bayarea #californiaadventure #bayareakids #bayareahikes #hiddengems #hiddengem
