You have fine wavy/curly hair it looks like so depending on what you’re wanting you’ll do a few different things; but look up fine wavy/curly and those tips are what helped me a lot!

Look up the “curly girl method”—truly changed my (hair) life. Also throw away your brush (for real). But it’s totally a societal thing, I think. The early 2000s taught us curls are Bad™ 🙃

You’re not alone! Took me a long time to unlearn that same thought. I would recommend a trim if you need one, but mostly, rather than brushing and trying to flatten it, search a curly hair routine you can do to really embrace and bring out your natural curls. Basically you want sopping wet hair and scrunch the sh*t out of it with mousse or gel and let it dry. You can do this the day before and then scrunch the crunch out and refresh it in the morning. If I still have some wonky bits, I fix those pieces with a curling iron in less than 5 minutes. I get so many compliments and my hair has only gotten healthier and better as a result!
