911 dispatcher here who was also alerted to a potential ghost plane coming down. It’s terrifying and haunting to think about. But I have been many people’s last call/last voice. ❤️🩹

I was flying in a C208 and shot a gap through some storms. The guy behind us tried it in a Cherokee. We told him not to. It ripped his wing off. 😩😭😭😭

I worked at a very small airport in norther bc canada. new pilot to the area asked for a radio check as he taxied out, I gave him a 7/10, welcomed and said we'll do intros when he lands....

Do families of the people on board get notified somehow? Like, do they just call in a missing person and it eventually gets back to you guys to confirm that you spotted the plane with no survivors?
