Old school but it's the way you should always do it, lapping paste, shows the contact face of the valves. to really test refit valve and poor in WD 40 in in inlet/outlet if a leak it will show 👍

Not only your lapping valves you also are looking at contact that it is in spec plus lap compound needs to be properly cleaned off🍻

Helped lap the valve seats on a 1948 red belly ford in the lower shed of the barn one winter. Every time I thought I was done, Papa made me do it again! 50 years later it is still running.
