This is such a sad and tragic case. The Menendez brothers, they are two brothers who k*lled their parents in self-defence out of fear after years of s*xual, emotional and physical ab*se at the hands of their parents. They are currently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole. The sad thing about this case is they had a lot of cooperating evidence to prove their allegations about their parents not only that there are multiple victims of their Dad which also cooperates with their testimonies and it shows authenticity and truth about what the brothers were saying. Sadly, there was trialed in a time where men’s and boys ab*se was seen as ‘taboo’ there was a huge stigma with males being ab*sed especially by your father.. at their trial the brothers faced huge amount of gender bias and horrible remarks stated by the prosecution for example Pamela Bozanich, Lyle Menendez’s prosecutor said at trial “men cannot be r*ped, as they lack the necessary equipment to actually be r*ped” that is one of the many disgusting remarks that was said during their trial not only that there was lots of homophobia spoken during trial, especially towards Erik Menendez, Mr Kuriyama, Erik Menendez’s prosecutor, tried saying because Erik was 18 years old still being r*ped by his father, that he must be gay, and he must enjoy it. lots of medias, news companies and TV shows bullied and mocked to the brothers and it’s absolutely disgusting. now we’re at a time where it’s more understanding and common for boys to speak up.
