I've learned to use my empathy as a weapon. I let toxic people exploit me then I go cold turkey. I give them enough empty after that to bargain for my bennifit. Hope it makes sense.

oh my goodness this is so true! once I realize what's going on my alert level is heightened, then when it's completely obvious I'm done. empathy turns off, ask feelings turn off. and I'm done. (1/2)
