All summer I have been working on this 360. Some days it was all fun just trying to spin and getting worked. Other days it was frustrating and disappointing. I tried my hardest to just have fun but I think when you are truly wanting to achieve a goal it’s okay to get frustrated. Today was the day. The day was great but when it was my turn to wakesurf everything was off. I was having trouble getting up, I was having trouble even staying in the pocket, I was just messing everything up. I got so in my head which happens. Luckily I had my little support system to encourage me to keep going. On my last attempt I said I was done and my little Cashy said “Just one more mom, I believe in you!” So I did it for her, I did it for me and I did it to prove to myself that even if I didn’t land it, I still pushed down deep to give it another go after failing miserably. The pop up felt good, best one all day. I got comfortable, told myself that I can do hard things and took a deep breath. Then bam landed it! You can see from not only my reaction but everyone else’s that this was a big deal. I am beyond proud of myself for working so hard all summer to get this. I had a convo with both Nick and Cash about how the only thing that made me sad was that I was so frustrated but I guess when your heart is truly invested into what your doing it’s okay to get frustrated. That’s where your tribe comes in to help lift you up to your full potential. It’s not the best 360 while wake surfing and I know loads of people can do this way better than I can but it’s the fact that I didn’t stop. That I took slam after slam after slam to get it. I want my daughter to see that determination takes you far in this life! Trial and error till you succeed is the most common thing in action sports and as frustrating as it is at times, the pay off is a feeling I have never felt in other sports.
