Active sonar can kill Marine Life, but active sonar are extremely rare to be used. They mostly use Passive sonar to scan their surroundings and Passive sonar will not harm Marine life.

Note that decibel ratings are on a logarithmic scale, meaning 224db (tsar bomba noise level) is 100x louder than the Saturn V rocket launch (120db)
