@glennmcgoldrick: Creating a meaningful culture in a beauty business is harder than ever. Majority of salons don’t have one or the culture they do have is controlled by the staff. I learned the hard way, after losing two teams I decided to go all in on learning how to build one and since then have had multiple staff members stay in the business 5+ years. The biggest thing I wasn’t doing was being true to what I actually valued, the culture is what you really care about as the salon owner. Here’s how to build one NOW - 1) write down a list of things you really care about, from overflowing bins to staff posting on socials, go as micro and macro as you can. 2) break the list into - salon etiquettes , team behaviours and staff traits. 3) be honest and only write things down you really care about, have a team meeting and implement them.
