Being in cali, not surprising, but def have a dash. However, you usually have to yield regardless of who has right of way so it could be manslaughter if something happened.

That happen to my fiancée he was leaving work late and a random guy walked in front of his car almost running him over then another guy tapped in his window with a gun and forced him to open his car

Oh my God this is so traumatizing, but your car insurance would actually help you in this case if they got hurt/☠️! Def make sure that you guys have a liability umbrella policy! Dash cam is helpful!

Him dying depends more on how fast ur going not just the size of the car. And if it was middle of street/no marked crosswalk u would not go to jail, unless you were speeding but nah it’d be hard to.
