@jamesdimitritieats: 🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷 When I’m in Amsterdam I’ve always got to hit-up some Surinamese food. If you didn’t know, Suriname is a country in South America above Brazil. The Dutch colonised it in 1667 and began bringing over slaves and later indentured labourers, mainly from Africa, China, India and Java. Because of this Surinamese cuisine is a mix of Chinese, Indian and Indonesian. Today there are now 350k Surinamese people in the Netherlands and it’s one of the counties most popular cuisines.
