Yes so true! I was 21 coaching a new high school varsity team. They soon realized they could trust me but also respect me, even tho I was only a few years older than them at the time.

I coach both 7&8. It’s a balance learning which kids need direct vs soft feedback and as a team when you can be harder on them.

it is soooo hard to watch them play perfect at practice and then get to tournaments and not be near as aggressive or make so many errors 😭
