I'll take Shien and Temu anyday when primark are looking for over £20 for pjs and the quality is on par if not below in some cases

The preloved clothing market is growing in the UK though and I hope this becomes the choice for more consumers than more and more cheap stuff from China.

tbf if companies didn't keep raising prices for average products, they might hold on to their market share better, so it's their fault temu and shein are gaining a foothold. I hope greed sinks them

The problem is that new look/Primark/ASOS/boohoo etc sizing is wildly inaccurate, the selection is limited at best, and the pricing is insane. Womens clothing UK has went downhill rapidly

Until prices are fair here I will continue to use shein. When your earning min wage the retail prices here aren’t affordable

Cheap doesn't equal ethical. How do we find out about the people making the products, how they are made, the effect on the immediate environment or beyond? So sad for people driven by consumerism.

I used shein for hair accessories and sewing stuff only. Their clothes are terrible. I use an old phone that's been wiped of everything and a pre load credit card to order stuff.

I have been saying that for ages now. retail is dead in UK,too expensive for average products. I bought all my clothes from shein and temu now and they are really good for the price.

It may be unethical, but seriously with the high cost of literally everything just to keep a roof above our heads, people can only afford clothes from these companies.

Shein were blocked from listing on the NY stock exchange due to ethical trading concerns. Pressure is on London to do the same. Plus there are moves to stop them taking advantage of de minimis.

Maybe these companies shouldn’t sell the SHEIN stuff for a huge marked up price. Seen loads of these. Just like Tesco, they are ripping us off!!!!!!!

Multiple stores like Zalando have removed customer rewiews from items ten u end up buying shoes which break after first use. Rather buy straight from China if biggest difference is just pricetag

They're competing in 1 sector against the lower point fashion retailers. ASOS and Boohoo are not hugely long term established retailers. 1 part of the market, not the retail sector.

It’s so annoying when you find the same products on Temu for a fraction of the price!

Well unfortunately British brands have increased their prices and we can’t afford it. It’s not the public’s fault it’s the government

Shein is great, on the high street everything's overpriced rubbish. I remember when NL and primark were the cheap cheerful shops, it's like they identify as premium brands, they are mistaken.
