It has to be borosilicate glass. So an older Pyrex piece. The borosilicate glass and vegetable oil both have the same index of refraction, 1.47, so the glass becomes not visible in the oil.

Glycerin not oil i believe. Either way, the liquid and glass have the same refractive index, they bend light by the same amount, that’s why you get the effect.

The glass is ok but on the first video is glycerine not vege oil. It works with glycerine, investigate a little bit on youtube!
