My friends and I climbed mt fuji but we were really un prepared and started pretty late. We made it to the top but not until it was pitch black and were the only ones up there 😂.

Ohhhh I made this mistake years ago . Also dressed improperly and started with too many layers, sweated, and then froze. My lips got blue. I’ll never forget the look on one of the hut attendant’s face

At first it was kinda tough, after a while of just doing it a bunch of times it gets easy and fun.

Supporting My Autistic Son Through Big Emotions: Tips From a Somali Father Raising a preteen on the autism spectrum can feel like riding the ocean—calm one moment, stormy the next. Here are strategies that help my son and me stay connected and balanced. 1. Nature as Our Calming Space Swimming and hiking are our anchors. Water and fresh air help him release energy, and they give us quiet time together without pressure to talk. We aim to get outside several times a week, even for a short walk. 2. Predictable Routines With Gentle Flexibility My son likes to know what’s next. I keep a simple daily plan posted at home, but I also remind him that small changes—like a surprise trip to the pool—can be fun. 3. Movement Before Big Conversations If he’s upset, I suggest a brief walk or a few stretches first. Physical activity often lowers the emotional “volume,” making it easier for him to share what’s bothering him. 4. Shared Cultural Touchstones We cook Somali meals together and talk about our traditions. This keeps him connected to our heritage and gives him a sense of identity and pride. Most of all we wear matching macawiis at home together while baking malawax 😋 5. Listening More Than Talking I try to stay quiet and let him lead the conversation when he’s ready. Short, simple questions work better than long lectures. 6. Community Support I connect with other parents—both in our Somali community and in autism-support groups. Sharing experiences reminds me we’re not alone. #somalitiktok #viralvideos #autismawareness #aabonimo🥰🌍🔐
