Agree on everything you said! This is great advice 💯 I think part of why men are more likely to go along is the fact that the industry is male dominated, so they are a lot more comfortable.

Problem is that as women we are expected to work hard, have babies, look after them AND go out for after work drinks. I understand that going for after work drinks is a helpful hack, but it’s not possible for many of us women - especially those of us with kids. So if that’s where the deals are done, we need to shine a brighter light on the fact that women are losing out as a result.

it depends on the country - those "extracurricular activities" aren't really a thing here in Germany in most companies (I don't know about consulting though)
