In second year i lived with 4 medics and bc of covid, we had online uni and open book exams. All of them keps saying “ur degree isnt real”.

I think overall their content is harder but our course as a whole is harder because we have difficult content alongside trying to begin to be a clinician and get better at the actual treatment too!!

I lived with medical students. I got to do surgery and take blood (in perio & oral medicine) before they did, they didn't like that 😂

Only the smartest get dentistry in Trinity in Dublin and there is like 30 places. but from next year you can do dentistry in RCSI but still need max points in Leaving cert 625

Last year in year 12, as a vet applicant, during work experience i injected needles into the kneck to collect blood from sheep and held a tortoise’s head up in amputation surgery😭

I have a medical doctor friend who studied dentistry in my cohort and he said that dentistry is a uniquely challenging degree, especially when it came to handskill development in a set amount of time

medicine is more competitive because the average applicant quality is better... compare UCAT scores of those invited to interview and those accepted at Aberdeen and Birmingham for example

i can confidently say general med drs have absolutely no idea what happens inside the mouth (not even ent). nor do they care to learn, even though it affects all other organs.
