@eurovriloid: Within the individual is the Self, and within it lies the entirety of his potentialities, defining qualities, and governing principles. Through one's external existence the Self attaches itself and expresses itself through the process of diligent choice or else by the lack thereof; the lack of choice leading to the externalized individual (the mass man), filled with the force of becoming but lacking the actualization which is brought about by his actions. In this way he no longer defines himself through his surroundings but is instead defined by them, and oftentimes comes to falsely understand himself as a victim of a cruel existence; with this he flows towards an imminent void, lacking individuality and awareness of the firm ground beneath the murky water, and of the two feet which beg to dig into the earth and to redirect him towards the shore. Life is the coming into awareness of the self and the diligent expelling of it thereafter. In this way will is a defining force in that it embraces the individual and separates him from this state of externalization, and how can we define ourselves as an individual so long as we fail to live both towards and through ourselves? How could we come to understand ourselves as a unified being so long as our external circumstances redefine us minute by minute?
