Yes, it’s called a bank of lights, the old incandescent bulbs were 5 bulbs in series so the voltage drop would alow them to work off the third rail power

You hook up the negative side first (to the running rail). Then you connect the other lead to the contact rail (3rd rail). If you do it in reverse, your holding a live 600 volt alligator Clio in hand.
