Salem is too crazy for Halloween, but I definitely recommend New England for that time of year - try Portland, Maine.

there is a town in Oregon near portland that is known as halloween town. The whole town goes all out. St. Helen’s Oregon. It’s super cute

It’s not in America, it’s in Canada BC but we have freight nights at the PNE and we have Mann farms haunted maze. And in Vancouver there is ghost tours, we have an abandoned mental hospital pt2

Avoid Salem in October and really late September. Too crowded. Any other time of year is wonderful.

a couple of weeks ago, my brother had a mountain biking accident, too. punctured lung 3 broken ribs, etc. also very stoic, it's hard to see, but I'm just happy he's still here.
