Vast majority of wealthy people start from having all those basic things like a decent car or a house and a good standard of living already covered. They can focus on accumulation of wealth.

i used to be poor. pub every weekend, smoking, car finannce, designer clothes. stopped it all at 23, started a business at 25 and now worth 6 figures. seen the light early enough thankfully.

I bought a second-hand Car from savings for 5k. Then I immediately started saving for another second-hand car 8 years down the line, when that one died. Never buy anything on credit.
