@300700.collection: In 1996, Sony made a big advancement in the market of wearable technology by bringing their personal LCD monitor concepts to life in the form of the ‘Glasstron’. The Glasstron could be connected to most video devices Sony produced at the time but still works with any compatible output, offering 2 0.55-inch mini LCD screens which the brain merges together to provide a viewing experience that is similar to a 52-inch screen at 6ft away, as stated by Sony. There are 2 built-in earphones for audio and the nose pad can be adjusted to allow for compatability with eyeglasses. Although production for the Glasstron lasted only a few years, Sony released 5 variations with different specifications and the viewing experience actually holds up suprisingly well in 2024, so i can only imagine how this must have looked at the time of release.
