If you look at the facts… raising a kid from 2000-2017 would cost around $200k. If you had a kid today, it would cost around $375k to raise them until 17. Almost x2 the cost.

We live in an economy where housing is insane. 6-7% rates. Average national price $440kish. Give or take. For a basic home it’s a $3500+ all in a month payment. My wife and I are well off with a kid. We can def afford it. And hope to have one more. But it’s def not cheap. Daycare is $2000/mo. Btw housing and day care it’s $5500. Nothing else included. By your condescending tone it’s very clear you don’t know what it takes to raise a kid financially. And no Twitter is not a good research tool.

Hi… I got a 3 month old daughter… I work 6 days a weeks 10 hours a day! I’m not gonna say she’s expensive but I did have to buy a new baby safe car, $30k now I’m looking at buying a house instead of renting $200-300k oh and my woman no longer works so now I have to support all 3 of us alone…

Yes it’s expensive. But it depends how you do it. I’m lucky enough that my wife works from home. Baby is 1. No daycare. Major investments so far = nursery, clothing, formula, diapers, strollers, etc.
