ILR means you can go abroad for up to 5 years at a time and you don’t need to pass a citizenship test

You only lose ILR status if out of U.K. for more than 5 continuous years, some countries don’t allow duel nationality so people continue to hold their foreign passport and remain with ILR.

After12 month with ILR u can apply for British citezenship and oay nearly £2000.Its not free.
