9/10 Millionaires (net worth) were made through real estate. Many of which we single family home owners. Rent will continue to rise, your mortgage payment wont.

Ramit I think you are not taking into consideration the stability and peace that comes with having a home. Having a point of reference in life that you own. Owners can raise rent .

Used to buy index funds then I bought a home. Best decision I ever made and I used my index funds to fund the downpayment. I think it makes sense to buy real estate and invest in other assets.

My home was the best investment. My net worth doubled and I have a reasonable mortgage. Had I not bought I’d be paying double in rent.

I will never buy a house again! After buying 2 houses and barely breaking even after selling, I'm renting. No more worrying about HOA dues, taxes, maintenance, etc. Love having 24r hr maintenance in my apt. Love the gym and other amenities and my rent is the max I pay. Plus when they want to raise rent, I negotiate with them and get it lowered. Last 8 yrs my rent went up an average of $60\mo. A home would have cost me a lot more in maint, taxes, etc.

Yep. Attend any city council meeting in a decent area. I've advocated for school expansions and Ikea, nimbys always show up and shut progress down.

This take is so bad. All they build now are 5 over 1 apartment buildings. That is housing for people that want to rent, not own. Finding single family homes to buy is what is rare.
