We did Jamaica and said anyone can come if they can make it, no hard feelings. Gave everyone a year notice. We had 30 people and it was perfect!

My sister did a destination wedding and she rented an airbnb where everyone stayed but she also got married on the property.

I couldn't go to my sisters Mexico wedding when I was 18 because I was in full time university and paying my mom $600 in rent and she was so mad. Tried to get me to take a loan from the bank

The worst is when it’s clear that they just wanted to shift the cost off of them to the guests, and pre/post wedding events that aren’t hosted (like guests pay per person for rehearsal dinner etc)

I did destination and wanted no one to come 😂 my in laws came though (I love them and they paid themselves) my family didn’t (did not want them there at all and was the reason we did destination)

We told people to think of it as a vaca with a wedding in the middle of it. 11 people came to Italy. No wedding party, no gifts, just love.

We kinda met in the middle. We had our guests pay for 1 night of a 3 night stay so we paid for 2 nights for everyone plus all food & drinks & gave every room $40 Uber gift cards.

we went to Vegas from Canada.. we paid for his parents, and my mom & 1 brother flights & hotel... they paid the rest... any food, attractions, or suvineres.
