I was so proud of you and your skill and confidence. His immediate condescending made my heart hurt. It’s so hard to see when you live in it.

as someone who has been married to a "sarcastic" guy like this and now with a loving man, I gaslit myself to think it was ok. 💔

notch out the inside of the two legs. you don't need 6" square legs at the top. you won't even see the notches

I’ve been a cabinet maker/ carpenter for 10 plus years and what I would do is cut some datos in the legs for the expanding part to slide in as well as widening out the expansion.

I have zero ideas for what you can do and I would still consider myself more helpful than that guy! 😭😭. I think it's great! The weight will keep it sturdy!❤️

I don’t see a problem with hubby I think he challenges her in a good way and that’s what I think love should do and sometimes it sounds different everyone’s communication skills are different

I thought he was funny. And he’s not wrong. A slender expandable counter compared to the wide expandable is a little pointless. I’d cut the top of the two legs and make a wide expandable.

Cut the tops of the legs down the width of the slide out on the end of the pull out. Add a small support on the outside edge of the leg for the other counter top if necessary
