@rachelgrixti: When we lived on the road we didn't really have the space to carry a lot of toys for the girls. This was never an issue as they found other ways to keep themselves entertained and use their imagination. Then once we moved onto acreage, it just made sense to continue prioritizing this. I'm not saying that my children have absolutely no toys at all. They love building blocks and their little outdoor kitchen. But most of the time they would prefer to help out with the gardening, feeding the animals, baking in the kitchen or even just playing in the dirt. They learn more through these real life experiences than any toy could ever teach them.
