If they were optimizing as they did 20 years ago then the games would cost us twice as much. They cost 60$ for as far as I can remember but inflation goes up all the time so they need to cut corners

Most games are well optimized. Basically any game can run on a budget PC in 1080p and with RT in case of 4060 and 4060 Ti. Well except Alan Wake 2

Frame interpolation is ass. Use it in a flight sim and the second you add camera movement it turns into a stuttering mess

Developers are not optimizing games. 720p is the new norm for demanding games, meanwhile in 2021 Metro Exodus ran 1440p 60fps with RTGI on PS5

IF the developers are given enough time they will spend a lot of time optimizing things. Especially if it has to run on consoles. Games are just huge now and take longer to get right.

All this framegen and upscaling is cool for singleplayer games but it's HORRIBLE for any competitive shooter. It turns any competitive game into a blurry, high latency soup.

most games are well optimized and a lot of them looking good even on low-mid settings. of course if you want ultra settings, 4k, 60 fps you need monster pc, or use frame gen as a cheeper option
