11 weeks left in 2026: learn Claude Code before January, the AI skill plan week by week leven weeks left in 2026, and this is the one AI skill worth learning before January: handing your AI a real weekly job, like your Monday report, and getting it back done without you in the middle. I'd learn it on Claude Code, an AI agent that works on your computer, with your files and your tools. No coding. You talk to it in plain English. Think of it as an advent calendar that starts in October. One door every Monday: 1. Week 1 (Oct 19): install Claude Code and give it something small and real. Rename a folder of receipts, or sort the downloads folder you haven't touched since March. Nothing deleted. Watch the agent loop: it looks around, does the job, then checks its own work. 2. Week 2 (Oct 26): write the briefing. CLAUDE.md is one file it reads every time it starts: who you are, what your business does, your rules. Ten lines is plenty. 3. Week 3 (Nov 2): connect one tool, like Gmail or Google Drive. Let it read before you let it write. 4. Week 4 (Nov 9): the first real job. The report you build by hand every Monday, where you copy last week's and change four numbers. The AI pulls the data, writes the draft, and you check it. 5. Week 5 (Nov 16): save that job as a skill. A Claude Code skill is the steps written down once, so next Monday you type its name and it runs the whole workflow. 6. Week 6 (Nov 23): Thanksgiving week, so it's light. Just fix what it gets wrong, and put every fix into the briefing so it sticks. 7. Week 7 (Nov 30): guardrails. Put them in Claude Code's permission settings, where it can't talk its way past them. Anything that sends, pays or deletes waits for your approval (human in the loop). 8. Week 8 (Dec 7): schedule it for Monday at 8 AM (in the Claude desktop app: Routines → New routine → Local → Weekly). Run it once while you watch and approve what it needs. Then leave the Claude app open and the computer awake, and the draft is already there when you sit down with your coffee. 9. Week 9 (Dec 14): job number two, your inbox. The AI email assistant drafts the routine replies, and you hit send. 10. Week 10 (Dec 21): Christmas. Don't build anything. Let it run and write down every mistake it makes. 11. Week 11 (Dec 28): fix that list, trim the briefing, and pick the next three jobs to automate in January. By New Year's Eve, you've got an AI doing two real jobs every week, and you know exactly how to hand it a third. That's how you go from chatting with ChatGPT to AI automation and AI agents that do real work, whether you run a small business, an agency or a team, or you just want your Mondays back. It works for weekly reports, client updates, Google Sheets numbers, inbox triage, invoices and content drafts: any job you repeat every week. That's the same order I teach inside my community: Claude Code From Zero first, then the AI Command Center, where you wire it into your real tools and put it on a schedule. And if you're brand new, one of the eight courses starts before all of this. If you're interested, the link is in my profile. #claudecode #aiagents #claudeai #aiemployee #learnai
