When I was in Japan I wanted to ask for a “Hot Tea” it was written in katakana on the menu or I would have just used oocha. I ended up with a hot dog and I am still confused. 😭

i think usually チョコ is used for chocolate flavored things, while チョコレート is for chocolate bars/chocolates (like the valentine's ones)
