@ann.le.do: When I was little, my family didn’t have the luxury of driving everywhere. We relied on public transportation to get around—it was part of our everyday life, and I felt lucky to have it. Without it, I couldn’t hang out with friends or shop at the mall. Living in a one-car household taught me that non-driving options aren’t just a convenience, they’re a vital way to connect with our communities. Unfortunately, not everyone has access. Everyone should be able to walk, bike, or hop on a bus to work, school, or a friend’s house without worrying about busy roads or unsafe crossings. That’s what a good transit system should be and it’s something we all deserve! Sadly, public transit is often underfunded, overshadowed by the push for more roads. That’s why I’m taking part in the Week Without Driving challenge from September 30 to October 6. For one week, I’m parking my car and getting around without it to support more inclusive transportation.
