All ACTIVATED abilities. Sakashima ability is not an activated ability. So it does not copy. What IS and activated ability is Sakashimas "pay mana, return this creature to your hand" ability. 1/2

Wouldn't this fall under state based replacement effects? Basically that Marvin might get 2 instances but Sakashima would get only 1.

Time stamps. The original would have 1 copy of all activated abilities on the field. The copy would have 2 copies of all activated abilities on the field, 1 from everything, 1 from the original.

Wouldn’t Marvin copy Horseshoe Crab’s ability… which would let Marvin pay 1 blue mana to untap “Horseshoe Crab” (aka Marvin can’t use it to untap itself because it’s still Marvin, not Horseshoe Crab)?

Would Sakashima not gain the ability of “Marvin gains all activated abilities” but due to it not being Marvin all it would do is have the added ability which Marvin would get? It seems pretty clear.

quicksilver elemental gets around the one per turn. basically anything that breaks mairsil the pretender breaks this guy but with less hoops.

sbas are checked once, to prevent replacement effects from infinitely recurring. I think they should get 2 copies of abilities, because they see each other once. that'll be hard to put in cr tho 🤔

Considering it's the same ability it applies in the same layer, so it comes down to time stamps Marvin applies first gaining all abilities then Sakashima gaining 2 of all abilities. They don't reapply

the ruling seems pretty simple. sakashima becomes Marvin with the name of Sakashima, and the added activated ability, and Marvin gains the new activated ability. this.. isn't complicated

Okay. After looking it up, this has already been solved. You end up with an original Marvin that sees a third creature with an activated ability. Then you have Sakashima see two creature with 1/?

so... Marvin has all AAs of creatures with a different name than itself, not just of creatures not named "Marvin". Saka keeps it's own name and gains a new AA that specifically names "sakashima the imposter". Saka's ETB triggers, copies Marvin, gains the AA, Marvin can then use Saka's newly gained AA but it only works for a creature named "sakashima the imposter" not the creature activating it, so Marvin can bounce Saka but not itself. also Saka now has all AAs of creatures not named saka
