This confuses me though because my hair doesn’t match a lot of the descriptions of low porosity, and has been dyed quite a few times so it shouldn’t be low porosity.. but it still floats for hours

Doesn’t hair typically float like when you’re in the pool? Wouldn’t that have to do more with the mineral content and amount of water + the angle you put it in?

From a cosmetologist, another way to test porosity is to run your thumb and forefinger up a strand from the end to root. Feeling the texture of it (smooth/rough) tells you how open the cuticle is
