I had this on my thumb nail for a long time. Did exactly this for a few months till it eventually grew out. My nail is now completely healed

If your nails are splitting like this, you might want to get your thyroid checked. This was my first symptom, which occurred at least a year before the rest.

my thumb nail has done this for years now it is so depressing as I love to paint my nails and my thumb nail is always out of place I really don't know why it keeps happening any suggestions on how to fix the underlying problem or even what causes it
