Having a toddler in preschool + a baby who attends neighborhood classes = we get sick A LOT 🤪 I know every other mom of young kids feels my pain 🫶 Here’s the foods I focus on when the kids are sick 👇 Vitamin C in oranges, strawberries, broccoli, and tomatoes (and in the peas, here!) 🍊🍓🥦🍅 Vitamin D in salmon, whole milk, and eggs 🍳 Zinc in red meat, beans 🥩🫘 Protein generally - I typically make salmon and steak 🍣🥩 Probiotics in unsweetened yogurt, fermented pickles or sauerkraut Hydrate!! Continue encouraging water, milk, etc. 💦 Electrolytes: I recommend unrefined salt like Redmond’s Real Salt - I just salt their food I also: 1. Serve foods I know they like so they’ll eat (e.g. Ariel loves peas & corn) 2. Add in oil or melted butter - this adds extra calories to help the girls stay full and SLEEP 🙏 Sleep is of course incredibly restorative In this video I made for Ariel: microwaved frozen peas & corn. Top with olive oil & salt. Added in leftover salmon. If you’re in this season with me, we will get through it! 💛
