So would barefoot shoes be the best for metatarsalgia? I constantly feel like I’m stepping on a pebble and have pain from my toe next the big toe down to that area

I have REALLY bad pain in the ball of my foot for more than a decade but only a minor bunion, it’s not hugely protruding but it’s there. I was going to get bunion surgery but people are discouraging me from doing the surgery since my bunion is minor. But I’m in SO much pain on the ball of foot. Is that a bad idea to get surgery?

What if my pain is in the joint right on TOP ?! It’s not under my foot at all it doesn’t make since and I’m just starting to get it in my other foot.

what if its only on the outside of the ball of your foot and under your big toe? I've always wondered what it is and this is the closest diagnosis I've found and I'm trying to do research for what shoes I need before spending lots of money on ortho shoes and doctors appts.

Yep my primary said i have metatarsalgia. I asked why? His response: you just had a bday! 🤦🏻♀️. Then he said flip flops. I need to go to an orthopedic?

I was just diagnosed with metatarsalgia on my right foot. My pain meds don’t work and they recommended lifts in my shoes but it just causes me more pain. Also my pain is on the top of my foot

i have bunions and the ball of my feet hurt so insanely bad i can’t walk or even slightly touch the bottom of my foot im trying to ice it which makes me wanna cry is there anything i can do other than surgery to help my poor feet? (i already have special shoes that i’ve been wearing for years my feet have never hurt like this)

Yes!! All of my socks quickly get a hole on the ball of my foot, by my second toe. My bone is poking out of the bottom of my foot 😭
