What are these and why do they matter? ⬇️ 1️⃣ CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards: The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana holds the Sustainable Fashion Awards to honor the commitment to sustainability in its highest sense. In 2023, Gucci won for The Denim Project which collects old, wrecked jeans, and Filatura Astro to create post-consumer recycled jeans. 2️⃣ Designers for the Planet: Milan Fashion Week promotes the Fashion Hub which features a project called ‘Designers for the Planet’ that brings together Italian and international brands that focus on sustainability. 3️⃣ The Air and Climate Plan: The city of Milan has been deemed a true model of sustainability. They have started a framework document, or a “plan of plans”, which aims to support and guide the municipality of Milan to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This includes the Bosco Verticale which is a new approach to high rise buildings in which trees and humans co-exist.
