Actual licensed stylist by trade. Yes. Most is industrial pigment and always 40vol + because it’s not tailored to your hair texture type or density. But if you cut it often. Meh, no.

go to Sally's and get Ion Semi Permanent dyes! salon quality at least instead of box dyes that can contain harsher chemicals!

I love my grays as they come in bc not everyone gets to see them and enjoy the next stage. the gray looks good on you and worth embracing if you're ready.

It’s more damaging and harder to color over, but with short hair that gets cut often it really doesn’t matter. Only if you’re going darker though, if I’m going lighter that’s sally beauty

I use black box color but that's because a) it's already incredibly close to my natural color and b) I never do any color other than black so I don't have to worry about the hassle of getting it out

Don’t do it! But if you do, be forewarned that gray doesn’t take the color as well. I stopped dyeing my hair for that reason.
