@bratbustersparenting: There are three common discipline methods that are used quite often that I don’t recommend. 1️⃣ Timeout; I personally don’t like timeouts as I don’t think it teaches anything, and I think it’s humiliating for the kids. 2️⃣ Diversion; this is when they're doing something bad, and you divert them with something fun, because you never divert with broccoli. It’s like a direct reward for bad behaviour. The only caveat is when they are babies I would use indirect diversion, where you would go and read their favourite book. 3️⃣ Countdown; it teaches kids they can be rotten in the short term, and nothing happens because of it. In my opinion, it makes you look like you're afraid of your kids. Not sure where to start in your calm leadership journey?
