Hi, I study vit c in human skin cells! These do different things in your cells, vit c is a cofactor in the enzyme that folds collagen. Retinol acts like a signal to induce collagen production.

Prequel and Naurium make some fantastic retinols that are shelf stable and super affordable. I’ve been using the Prequel one for almost three months now and can totally see a change.

Your retinoid and your antioxidant do different things in vivo, and if your skin doesn’t like ascorbic acid, please look into alternative antioxidants and/or derivatives 🫶🏻

vit c and retinol do different things, they're not comparable. retinol is also not the most stable ingredient, some brands make very unstable formulas.

I can’t use vitamin c it stings and breaks me out and I try for so long till I was like why am I using a product that’s making me sting and break out 😅😅

There are good ones that are shelf stable! Look for a vit c derivative instead of l ascorbic acid

I use retinal and vitamin c. But I only buy vit c in pump packaging for this reason.

Retinol and vit c are completely different vitamins. And there are shelf stable vit c, that’s why they are expensive.
